Comments:

Mice homozygous for the Ntf5tm1Jae targeted mutation (commonly refered to as NT4) are viable and fertile. Homozygous mutant mice lose sensory neurons in the nodosepetrosal and geniculate ganglia. However, they do not show loss of facial motor neurons, sympathetic neurons of the superior cervical ganglion, or dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. Formally called Ntf4.
